Case Study

Urgent Bulk Vape Disposal & Recycling

An urgent three-day warehouse clearance removed 180,000 obsolete vape products, totalling 14 tonnes. Materials were safely segregated, recycled and disposed of compliantly, freeing valuable space without disrupting the client’s operations.

The Challenge

We were appointed to manage the urgent clearance of a large quantity of obsolete and non-saleable vaping products from a national retail distribution warehouse. The client needed the stock removed quickly to free up valuable warehouse space for incoming deliveries, while ensuring all waste was managed in accordance with environmental legislation.

Following an initial assessment of the requirements, we coordinated the specialist resources needed to complete the project within three days. Approximately 180,000 disposable and rechargeable vape products were safely collected, segregated and directed to appropriate recycling and disposal routes.

The project involved coordinating the safe handling, segregation and removal of the vaping products, including the batteries, electronic components and other materials requiring specialist treatment.

Throughout the project, our priority was to ensure the clearance was completed safely, efficiently and compliantly, while allowing the client’s distribution facility to remain fully operational.

The Solution

The project included the removal of:

  • Disposable vapes
  • Rechargeable vape devices
  • Lithium-ion batteries
  • Nicotine-containing e-liquids
  • Damaged electronic components
  • Packaging materials

All waste was transported to authorised recycling and treatment facilities, with full Waste Transfer Notes and Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes provided where required.

The Result

The warehouse was cleared ahead of schedule, allowing the client to resume normal operations without delay. Approximately 14 tonnes of waste were removed, with recyclable materials recovered wherever possible. The project was completed safely, efficiently and without disruption, providing the client with a fully compliant solution within a very short timeframe.
